Hays County ESD No. 8
Envelope Testing
Rennell Associates is proud to have provided our Whole Building Air Leakage Testing services for the new Hays County ESD No. 8 Fire Station in Buda, Texas. Our work is vital to ensuring the building’s envelope—comprising walls, windows, doors, and roofing—performs at its highest capacity, similar to that of standard IEC constructed buildings.
Throughout our process, we conducted thorough air leakage testing in accordance with ASTM E779 and E1186 Testing Standards. All windows, doors, ducts, and roofing were tested using multipoint pressurization and depressurization methods to capture precise pressure readings. We also provided Infrared Thermography testing in accordance with ISO 6781-83 and ASTM C1060-97 Standards to identify suspected points of thermal bridging, moisture migration, and installation voids. This data enabled us to pinpoint specific areas of leakage within the building, and we provided the project team with a detailed report of our findings.
Though construction is still ongoing, the new fire station is on track to soon open and serve the public. When completed, it will provide essential services to the Buda community while standing as a model of sustainable and high-performance design.
Rennell Associates is proud to contribute to the success of this project, helping to create a building that supports the safety, functionality, and comfort of those who rely on it daily.
